Sophia Wang
多伦多大学教育学院英语语言与文学研究硕士。
在TDSB 公校高中担任大学申请指导老师 Guidance Counsellor，
成功帮助许多高中生进入理想大学学府。
Sophia老师有着丰富的教学经验，
包括英文写作、文学鉴赏课程以及应试辅导。
学术论文在国际学术期刊上发表。
Head of ICALC English Department, She studied Language and Literacies at the University of Toronto and received her MA from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She works as a Guidance Counsellor and has successfully helped many students get admitted to their dream Universities. Sophia has sufficient teaching experience in essay editing and exam preparation for senior high school students. She is very responsible and passionate about teaching. Sophia is willing to share her knowledge and skills so that students can further develop their potential.

Dr. Elizabeth Bolton, English teacher at ICALC. She holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Literacy Education from OISE, University of Toronto, in addition to a Bachelor degree in Latin and Greek from UC Berkeley. She is originally from Northern California. Elizabeth has researched and published many articles on creative writing practice and pedagogy and has many years of professional teaching experience in Cupertino, California.

Editor, tutor, academic coach, and writing consultant. Dr. Megan has many years of teaching experience in English literature for University students and other grades students. She is passionate about editing and teaching in ways that are rooted in decolonizing practices.

Professor Jenkins earned his Ph.D. degree in English Literature at the University of Ottawa. He is currently a professor of Communications and Writing at Algonquin College. Prior to that, he was a professor of English at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. Chris has a wealth of high school English teaching experience as well as 8 years of college English teaching/teaching assistant experience. In addition, he has published several academic journals.

Rosmery is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto. She is also an English/Spanish translator. She has over 15 years of experience in teaching Literature and Writing courses. She believes in students’ character building and believes that education enables students to stand on their own feet.

学生每周都有作业需要完成，

基于以往的教学经验和学生需求，
ICALC设计了各个level的英语强化班和英语写作班。
这些课程将全方位的提升学生的写作水平，
阅读理解能力和Critical thinking 能力。
不同年级的学生可选择不同等级的课程。
同时，
老师也会基于个体学生的现有水平，
有针对性地展开教学，实现因材施教。

很多家长都在好奇我们的英文写作课和英文强化班的区别在哪里？我们的英文写作课是提供给热爱写作的小朋友们的，
在课堂上会体验到各种各样不同的写作风格和体裁，
不少是平时在学校里的英文课上学不到
或者不会学习那么深入的。
写作课专注于让同学们深入感受写作的魅力，
通过不断的练习来提高写作能力。
而英文强化班会对重点的几类写作体裁
(narrative writing, persuasive writing,
expository writing)
进行训练，
通过阅读启发同学们的思维，
训练批判性思考的能力，
会在学校要求掌握的标准写作体裁上进行重点训练。
特別地，
我们Leve 5及以上的训练
就会包含SSAT Upper Level Essay的要求。
其中，
创意写作的 setting 和叙述故事的技巧
在我们的写作课和英文强化课上
都会进行深度的训练。
想要写出一篇好的
persuasive essay and expository essay
离不开大量的阅读训练，
在阅读中明白深刻的道理，
培养自己的思维辩论能力，
并且用自己的话表达出来。
