English G1

English G1

Description

The course can also be viewed as a supplement for the English course at school. In lower-levelled classes, we will focus on vocabulary instruction and sentence construction. There will be structured vocabulary lessons and practice worksheets every week to help students memorize the words and apply the meaning of the written text. Further, a number of Christian-based reading materials will also be used to help students stimulate their imagination and expand their understanding of the world. With all the training, the students will then create short writing pieces. In upper-levelled classes, developing students’ critical thinking abilities will be a core of the curriculum. Students will have the chance to explore reading in different genres and discuss and analyze them. Students will be trained to understand how to write the three most important writing styles at school: narrative writing, persuasive writing and expository writing. The requirements are consistent with SSAT Upper-Level Essays.
